Halloween

We had a lot fun at halloween, we had some friends over and we went trick or treat, Andrew was a pirate and Amon a flame warrior, we had a dinner before we left to trick or treat, I tried to keep Sean's family tradition and made chilly, I also made some extra things and all my friends helped with something too. It was a lot fun.

this week was funny how Andrew handle his first missing tooth, the first night he found out that if he left his tooth to the tooth fairy she would bring him money, he put his tooth inside an envelop and put it under his pillow, when it was time for bed, I saw he was sad and I asked him why, he told me that he was already missing his tooth and he didn't want to give it to the tooth fairy, I told him that in order to receive he needs to give, trying to use the moment to teach him something, but the fact was he didn't want to give or receive anything, so he got his tooth back from under the pillow and went to bed happier, the next night was the same and he didn't want to give his tooth, finally after Amon told him how silly he was for not trading his tooth for money he decided that that night he was going to leave his tooth there, so when was time to go to bed he put his tooth inside the envelop and put it under the pillow, I saw him kissing the envelop couple times until he finally fell asleep, the next morning he found the envelop with money, he was pretty happy, but when it was time to say a prayer, he asked to say it and he said: please help my tooth to have fun with the tooth fairy... I guess he really liked that tooth, after so many times we've been told him to take care of his tooth, he really understood that his tooth was pretty special. Anyways, he is so cute, he just cracks me up.

Andrew decided that he wants to be an artist when he grows up, so we thought that would be a good idea to get him into some art classes, he takes them at the Art Center and he loves it.Andrew decidiu que sera um artista quando crescer, entao achamos que seria uma boa ideia coloca-lo em aula de arte, ele esta gostando bastante.

Fun weekend at the Turner's house

Last weekend we went to Tara's house, Amon had a lot fun with Ty and Andrew loved the cat, we had a very nice dinner outside. Sean went with Tom and Trevor to the Priestood meeting, they had dinner before the meeting and went for some icecream after. We are very blessed to have such good friends.
Semana passada fomos jantar na casa de uns amigos da igreja, Amon brincou bastante com o filho dela e Andrew ficou entertido com o gato.

The missing tooth / perdeu o dente

today Andrew lost his first tooth, he was playing with Dad, Amon and his friends Logan and Jack, they were playing Mean bear, which is a game they play with Sean, he is the mean bear and runs after the kids hidding under a blanket. They were having a lot fun and Andrew got so scared that his tooth got out. Hoje Andrew perdeu o primeiro dente, ele estava brincando com papai, Amon e dois de seus amiguinhos, eles estavam brincando Urso malvado, que e uma brincadeira que eles brincam com Sean.

Amon is having a lot of fun playing soccer, he has been running a lot and getting better. Amon tem se divertido no futebol, ele tem corrido bastante e tem melhorado.

I haven't put any pictures for a long time, I do have some pictures from the boys, but my camera is in the car and I am a little lazy to go get it, so I will do that next time, but today I decided to put some pictures from Brazil, I do miss there a lot, specially this time of the year, when fall starts, the weather in Iowa reminds me my hometown and reminds me that The Holidays are coming soon. So I am a little homesick, so I decided to get some pictures, of course I am going to show just the pretty side of Brazil, after all, this is what we remember when we are homesick :)

Amon is a cub scout / Amon e um escoteiro

This week was Amon's first cub scout meeting and he got his Bobcat. We had a lot of fun in the meeting, they got their rewards and play obstacle course and had smores in the end.
Esta semana foi a primeira vez que Amon foi nos escoteiros e ele ja pegou um selinho para por na camisa, ele gostou e se divertiu bastante.

Amon's first day of 3th grade / o primeiro dia do Amon na terceira serie

This week Amon started 3th grade. He was happy that he got the teacher that he was hoping for. He also said that lunch was his favorite time of the day, I am starting to think that I don't feed my kids too well at home, Amon is very good in math,reading and spelling. He doen't like to talk much about school, but I think he had a good day. He also started soccer, flag football and cub scouts this week, it will be a busy semester for him, he is excited.

Esta semana Amon comecou a terceira serie. Ele estava feliz que ele pegou a professora que ele queria. Ele tambem disse que o almoco foi a melhor parte do dia, eu estou comecando a achar que eu nao dou comida direita para meus filhos aqui em casa. Amon gosta muito de matematica, de soletrar e de ler. Ele nao gosta muito de falar sobre a escola quando chega em casa, mas eu acho que ele teve um bom dia. Ele tambem comecou esta semana no futebol, futebol americano e nos escoteiros, vai ser um semestre puxado para ele, mas ele esta animado.

first day of school / primeiro dia de aula

Today was the first day of school and for Andrew it was the first day in the elementary school. We started our day trying to choose a nice outfit to wear, really, mom and boys have a very different concept of " nice ". Finally we found something we both agreed. Andrew was so excited that I tried to hide my anxiety to not ruin his day. Finally the time came, we took him to the bus stop, my heart was feeling like I was the one going to school for the very first time. He did awesome. After I drop him, I was wondering: is he going to miss me, is he going to be OK? as you all know, he did just fine, he loved it. He said his favorite part was lunch, they had cheese pizza and he said: mom, you're right, school is a great place. As for Amon, he is not back yet, so I will let you know when he gets home...

Hoje foi o primeiro dia de aula e para o ANdrew foi o primeiro dia em uma escola grande. Nos comecamos nosso dia tentando achar uma roupa legal para usar, mas com certeza, mae e filhos tem uma concepcao muito diferente do que e " legal", finalmente achamos uma coisa que concordamos. Andrew estava tao animado que eu tentei esconder minha ansiedade para nao acabar com o dia dele. Finalmente o horario chegou, nos levamos ele para pegar o onibus escolar, meu coracao estava sentindo como se fosse o meu primeiro dia de escola. Ele foi otimo. Depois que o deixamos, eu fiquei pensando: sera que ele vai sentir falta de mim? sera que ele vai ficar bem? como voces todos sabem, ele ficou otimo, ele adorou escola. Ele disse que a parte favorita dele foi o almoco, eles tiveram pizza de queijo. Ele disse:mae, voce estava certa, a escola e um otimo lugar. Agora, Amon nao esta de volta ainda, eu vou te deixar saber quando ele chegar...

I love the sunset in Iowa / eu amo o por do sol em Iowa

One of the most beautiful things in Iowa's summer is the sunset. The mixture of sun light and the green make the summer my favorite time here.
Uma das coisas mais bonitas do verao aqui em Iowa e o por-do-sol. A mistura dos raios do sol com o verde daqui faz o verao minha estacao preferida em Iowa.

Last week we went to the lake by our house, it was such a nice day. I am so happy that I can stay home with my boys and enjoy doing things with them. Tomorrow school starts, it will be Andrew's first day in kindegarten and Amon will be in 3th grade. Time passes so fast and now my two boys are in school. It is a new phase in our lives. I am going to start school next week too. I am excited and happy that I have the life I have. I am thankful for Sean for working and studing so hard making it possible for me to be a stay at home mom.
Semana passada nos fomos no lago perto de minha casa, foi um dia lindo. Eu sou tao feliz que eu posso ficar em casa e curtir tantas coisas juntos. Amanha escola comeca, tempo passa tao rapido e agora meus dois garotos vao estar na escola. E uma nova fase em nossas vidas. Eu vou comecar escola semana que vem tambem. Eu sou muito feliz com a vida que tenho. Sou grata por SEan que trabalha e estuda tanto e torna possivel eu estar em casa com as criancas.
